Pie with saury and rice
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
Preparing the ingredients. You can take saury in its own juice or in oil - it doesn’t matter. You can also take other canned fish (sardine, tuna, pink salmon, etc.) that you like.
STEP 2
Let's prepare the dough. Pour a glass of warm milk into a bowl, it is better to take sour milk, the yeast dough will turn out even more airy and softer. Add sugar, yeast and 50 g of flour, mix thoroughly. Leave it near the battery for 20 minutes.
STEP 3
Bubbles should appear on the surface of the mixture. Soften the butter in a water bath.
STEP 4
Beat the egg into the bowl with the dough and mix gently.
STEP 5
Add butter, mix.
STEP 6
Add sifted flour in parts, add salt, knead the dough. It should turn out slightly sticky. Cover the bowl with film and place in a warm place for 2 hours.
STEP 7
Knead the risen dough and let it rise again.
STEP 8
Meanwhile, boil the washed rice until tender, but not to a mushy state. Finely chop the onion. We open the canned food, be sure to drain the excess juice or oil, you can leave a little liquid, it will saturate the rice. If there are large pieces of fish, chop them into small pieces.
STEP 9
Divide the finished dough into two parts, leaving a little more for the top layer and decoration of the pie.
STEP 10
Roll out the smaller part of the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle. Use a rolling pin to place it in a greased pan. Place in a warm place for 20 minutes to rise.
STEP 11
Place rice on the bottom crust. Sprinkle chopped onion on top.
STEP 12
Next is a layer of canned fish.
STEP 13
Cover the pie with the rolled out top crust and decorate it. Let rise in a warm place.
STEP 14
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Brush the pie with beaten egg.
STEP 15
Bake for about 40 minutes.
STEP 16
Take out the pie and serve with tea.
STEP 17
Enjoy your tea!
