I came across just the kind of apples that soften greatly when cooked. Without the skin they turned into puree, so I remade it and left the apples with the skin on. Grate the lemon zest and squeeze out a tablespoon of juice.

    Take a frying pan with a thick bottom - it should hold heat well for the cake to bake. Place it on low heat. Pour lemon juice on it, add butter and half the amount of sugar. Stir and wait until the sugar dissolves.

    Add apples to sugar and stir. Cover the pan with a lid and keep the apples there for about 5-10 minutes. Depending on the type of apple. Stir them once.

We really liked the pie, the recipe is amazing with its simple preparation and ingredients. Very tasty and unusual, due to the lack of lemon, I replaced it with cinnamon, it was a bit mushy, and my son poured condensed milk on top of the finished piece.
