  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to cook millet milk porridge in a slow cooker? Prepare your food. I use a special multi-cup from my multi-cooker as a measuring cup. But you can simply use the proportion: for 1 measure of cereal, 6 measures of liquid. You can also replace some of the milk with water, then the porridge will be less fatty. I always cook with 2.5% fat milk. I do not recommend taking more than 1.5 liters of milk, as it may begin to boil out of the multicooker valve.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Pre-sort the millet, sifting out excess debris and grains. Then rinse the millet thoroughly under running water. First, make the water warm to wash away all the dirt. When the drained water becomes clear, rinse the millet several times under hot water. This will relieve the cereal from bitterness. You can also pour boiling water over the millet for a few minutes, but a simple rinse is usually enough for me.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Place the millet in the multicooker bowl. Pour milk. Add salt and sugar, stir.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Place the multicooker bowl in place.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Close the lid and install the valve. Set the program for cooking porridge. My multicooker has a special “Milk porridge” program; the cooking time for this program is 1 hour. If you have a different model of multicooker, then use either the porridge program or set the cooking time to 1 hour.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

When the program ends and the end signal sounds, open the multicooker lid. Stir the porridge and close the lid again. Leave the multicooker in the “Keep Warm” mode for another half hour. During this time, the cereal will boil even more and absorb more milk, the porridge will become thicker. If your multicooker does not have such a function, then just leave it to stand; due to the heat, the porridge will still continue to simmer.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

After half an hour, open the lid and add butter to the porridge. stir. Milk millet porridge is ready, you can put it on plates and serve. Bon appetit!

I really liked cooking porridge in a slow cooker) For breakfast I cooked millet milk porridge in a slow cooker. In the morning I woke up early and immediately loaded the equipment, although I first soaked the millet in boiling water to remove the bitterness. I set the program to “porridge” for an hour and went to top it up) It turned out that my porridge was steamed for another hour after cooking) And for breakfast we had a delicious, steamed, sunny porridge! My daughter calls it “porridge for chickens” because of its yellow color) The consistency of the porridge is medium thick and slowly spreads across the plate. I like this thickness. By the way, I took 1.5% milk so that it wouldn’t run away. And greased the bowl with butter. Everything went perfectly, the porridge is in place, the multicooker is clean) And the recipe is excellent, I recommend it!

The recipe is wonderful, I love millet porridge in the morning. I would like to offer a recipe for another delicious porridge, which we also cook in a slow cooker. Very tasty rice porridge with milk according to the classic recipe. This porridge can be of any consistency - completely boiled or semi-cooked, when the grains of rice are already ready, but at the same time retain their shape.
