Artek porridge on water, wheat
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to cook Artek wheat porridge in water? Prepare your food. Add sugar according to your taste, or you can omit it completely. Take natural, high-quality butter, without vegetable fats. Or replace it with extra virgin olive oil - the porridge will become even healthier.
STEP 2
Before you start cooking porridge, you need to sort out the grains from foreign debris. This is easiest to do on a regular table. Spread the cereal onto the table surface in a thin layer and, sorting through it, remove the debris. These can be pebbles, whole grains, grass and other impurities that our body does not need.
STEP 3
Place the sorted cereal in a bowl and rinse. If you like your porridge crumbly, rinse it under running warm water in a sieve. For a more viscous and thick porridge, rinse the cereal briefly under cold water. With this method, starch is not washed off the surface, which makes the porridge viscous. I prefer a sticky porridge, so I simply rinsed the wheat under cold water.
STEP 4
Place the cereal in a saucepan and cover with water. Wheat porridge is filled with liquid in a ratio of 1 to 2. It is better to take water not from the tap, use filtered or bottled water. This water is much cleaner and softer, which means the porridge will turn out tastier and healthier.
STEP 5
Place over medium heat and bring to a boil. Cover with a lid and reduce heat to low, simmer for 20 minutes. During this time, the porridge needs to be stirred several times so that it does not burn. Then remove the lid and add salt to taste. If the porridge seems too liquid, cook it, stirring, until the desired consistency. Remove from heat, close the lid, place a towel on top and let stand for 15 minutes so that the cereal is completely steamed and cooked.
STEP 6
Divide the finished porridge into bowls, add butter and serve immediately. If desired, you can add sugar, honey, fruit and berry syrups to the wheat porridge. You can supplement it with fresh berries, fruits, candied fruits and dried fruits. It all depends on your desires and preferences. It can also be served as a side dish for fish or meat dishes.
STEP 7
Bon appetit!
