Meat with potatoes and cabbage in a cauldron
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to make meat stewed with potatoes and cabbage in a cauldron? Prepare all the products you will need. You can take any meat, be it beef, pork, chicken, lamb or turkey. Just keep in mind that the cooking time for each type of meat is different. For example, beef will need to be stewed for 1.5-2 hours, and chicken for about 30 minutes. This time I have pork.
STEP 2
Rinse a piece of meat under running cold water and cut into small pieces of the same size.
STEP 3
Peel the onions, carrots and garlic. Cut the bell pepper in half and remove the core. To brighten up the finished dish, use peppers of different colors whenever possible. Wash all vegetables and dry with napkins.
STEP 4
Cut the bell pepper and onion into cubes, and cut the carrots into cubes. Chop the garlic by hand, not very coarsely. The cutting method may differ from those indicated in the recipe.
STEP 5
Heat a small amount of oil in a cauldron and add the pork there. Reduce the flame to low and simmer the meat under the lid for about an hour. If necessary, add just a little water. I didn’t need this, since the pork was stewed in its own juices. At the end of simmering, open the lid. If there is liquid left in the cauldron, then increase the flame under the cauldron and leave it this way until it completely evaporates.
STEP 6
Add onions, carrots, bell peppers and garlic to the cauldron.
STEP 7
Stirring, fry everything for a few minutes.
STEP 8
Peel the potatoes, wash them and cut them into small pieces. Remove the outer damaged leaves from the cabbage and chop into thin strips.
STEP 9
Place the potatoes in a cauldron with meat and vegetables. Stir and simmer covered for about 5 minutes over moderate heat. If necessary, pour in 50-100 ml. water so that nothing burns.
STEP 10
Add fresh cabbage to the cauldron and simmer everything together for about 5 minutes.
STEP 11
Next comes the turn of sauerkraut and tomatoes. Send them to the cauldron with all other ingredients. First cut the tomatoes into small cubes. If desired, remove the skins from the tomatoes. Salt and pepper everything to taste. At this stage, you can add your favorite spices. Mix everything, cover with a lid and simmer until all components are cooked. It took me about 20 minutes.
STEP 12
Sprinkle the finished dish with finely chopped herbs. Serve it up!
