Lemon cake with poppy seeds and turmeric

STEP 1
How to make lemon poppy seed and turmeric cake? Measure out the required ingredients. The butter should be softened, so remove it from the refrigerator in advance.
STEP 2
Mix flour with baking powder and turmeric and sift through a sieve. Oxygenated flour will help the cake rise more easily when baked.
STEP 3
Wash the lemon well with a brush and dry thoroughly. Remove the zest from the lemon (the top thin layer) and squeeze out the juice. I got 50 ml of lemon juice.

Combine soft butter with sugar and salt.

Beat everything with a mixer until a fluffy mass is formed.
STEP 6
Beat the eggs into the butter mixture, one at a time, beating well after each. Add the next egg only after the previous one has completely mixed into the total mass.

Add lemon juice and zest to the dough and stir.
STEP 8
Add dry poppy seeds and mix again.
STEP 9
Add flour sifted with baking powder and turmeric.
STEP 10
Mix everything thoroughly until the lumps of flour disappear. The result is a homogeneous, thick dough. It will turn yellow.
STEP 11
Place the dough in a baking dish and smooth it out.
STEP 12
Bake the lemon poppy seed and turmeric cake in an oven preheated to 180C for about 40 minutes. Check readiness with a skewer. If it comes out dry from the middle of the cake, the cake is ready. Determine the baking time and mode based on the operating characteristics of your oven. If the cake is browned but the inside is not quite ready, cover the top with foil. Cool the finished baked goods slightly and remove from the pan.
STEP 13
Before serving, you can sprinkle the cake with powdered sugar. Bon appetit!
