  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to bake jellied pie with cabbage in the oven? Prepare the indicated products. Cabbage can be used both young, early and late varieties, only after cutting it must be crushed with your hands along with herbs and salt so that the filling becomes softer and loses its density. Instead of sour cream, it is permissible to use kefir, but then it is recommended to increase the number of chicken eggs to three.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Break the chicken eggs into a deep container, pour in sour cream of any fat content, add salt. Ground black pepper - optional. Beat with a whisk or fork.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Add sifted wheat flour and baking powder, knead into a loose dough, kneading thoroughly with a fork or whisk so that no lumps form. The dough should be quite liquid, approximately like pancakes. If necessary, add a little less or a little more flour to achieve the desired consistency. Read about the properties of flour in the article at the end of this recipe.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Peel the top leaves from the cabbage, cut the head in half and cut in any way you like. Place the slices in a deep container and add salt, add chopped herbs and press with your hands so that the cabbage releases its juice.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Grease a baking dish with vegetable oil and pour half of the prepared dough into it. Many chefs recommend replacing vegetable oil with butter - use your own taste.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Spread the prepared cabbage filling evenly over the dough. By the way, such a pie can even be prepared with sauerkraut, if you first rinse it of brine and place it in a colander, allowing excess liquid to drain.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Carefully pour the second part of the dough over the filling. Preheat the oven to 200 C in advance and place the mold with the workpiece in it. I use a mold with a diameter of 20 cm. Bake the pie for about 35-40 minutes until golden brown. Time and temperature are approximate. Read about the operation of different ovens in the article at the end of the recipe. Be sure to check the baked goods for doneness with a match or wooden skewer. If the skewer comes out dry, the cake is completely ready!

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Remove the pan from the oven and let the baked goods cool in the pan for about 20 minutes. Then remove the pie from the mold and cut into portions and serve. This pie is especially tasty with kefir or aromatic tea. Bon appetit!

Sometimes you want cabbage pie, but you don’t have time to make yeast dough. Therefore, a jellied pie with cabbage and sour cream in the oven really helped out. It’s better, of course, to use young cabbage for this pie. But you can also make a filling from “winter” cabbage. For example, you can stew cabbage. And I steamed it a little in the microwave, literally 5 minutes. The cabbage became much softer and settled a little. I salted the filling and mixed it, you can add your favorite spices. The thickness of the dough turned out to be similar to not very thick sour cream, but it took me a little more flour. The pie was baked in a mold with a diameter of 20 cm. The bottom of the mold was lined with parchment so that the pie could come out easily. Bake for 30 minutes at 180°C. We liked the cabbage pie! The dough is baked and the cabbage is completely cooked. I would add more spices. But even without them the pie turned out delicious!
