  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make New Year's gingerbread with icing? Prepare the necessary products. Wash the egg and dry with napkins. Take the highest grade flour. Sift it through a fine sieve to saturate it with oxygen and make it more airy.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Add honey, sugar and all spices to the saucepan.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Place the saucepan on the fire. Bring the mixture to a boil while stirring constantly. The sugar should completely dissolve.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Pour the hot mixture into a bowl, add baking soda. Mix well. The mass will lighten and increase slightly in volume.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Add butter to the honey mixture. Mix well. The butter should melt completely into the hot mixture.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Now wait a bit until the mixture cools down. Then beat a raw egg into it. Mix with a whisk until smooth.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Knead the dough, adding flour in parts. Mix first with a spoon, then with your hands. The dough should become thick and not sticky. Focus on its consistency, and not on the volume of flour - you may need more or less of it. Gather the dough into a ball. Wrap the dough in cling film and put it in the refrigerator for half an hour.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Then roll out the dough into a layer about a centimeter thick. Using cutters or stencils, cut out the gingerbread cookies. Gather the remaining dough into a ball again, roll it out and cut it into shapes.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Transfer the gingerbread cookies to a baking tray lined with baking paper. Bake the gingerbread cookies for about 10-12 minutes at 180°C. Focus on your oven. Cool the finished gingerbreads and remove from the paper.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

While the gingerbread cookies are cooling, make the glaze. Prepare food for her. If you wish, you can use food coloring to make the glaze colored. But just white also looks beautiful.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Add the egg white to a separate bowl. Sift powdered sugar through a fine sieve.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Using a whisk, stir the egg mixture well until smooth. Add a few drops of lemon juice.

  13. STEP 13

    STEP 13

Using a mixer, beat the glaze until it becomes a fluffy white mass.

  14. STEP 14

    STEP 14

Set aside a couple of tablespoons of thick glaze to draw the outline. Thin the rest of the glaze with water to the desired thickness.

  15. STEP 15

    STEP 15

Add coloring to the thinned glaze.

  16. STEP 16

    STEP 16

Divide white and colored icing into bags or piping bags.

  17. STEP 17

    STEP 17

Using thick white icing, draw an outline on the gingerbread cookies. If it doesn’t turn out smooth, don’t worry, you can gently wipe off the glaze with your finger and draw the outline again. Correct any unevenness with a toothpick. Let the outline dry for about 15 minutes.

  18. STEP 18

    STEP 18

Fill the middle of the gingerbread surface with a thinner colored glaze. Correct the edges with a toothpick. Let the glaze harden completely. This will take about an hour.

  19. STEP 19

    STEP 19

Color the gingerbread with thick white glaze as you wish, as your imagination tells you! Delicious New Year's gingerbread cookies with glaze are ready!

The New Year is still far away, but you want comfort and warmth now, in the cool autumn. And what could be more cozy than aromatic spicy pastries? Gingerbread with glaze for the New Year is just for such an occasion. The dough is easy to prepare. Luckily, I had all the spices I needed. I put 1/4 teaspoon of cardamom, 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg, 4 stars of cloves (I ground them in a mortar). The dough is very pleasant to work with. It rolls out well, is easy to cut and holds its shape perfectly. It took me 10 minutes to bake the gingerbread cookies. My daughter was happy to help decorate the gingerbread cookies. Gingerbread cookies have an excellent spicy taste. They have a refreshing pungency of ginger. They are not very sweet, which I liked. The gingerbread cookies turned out quite hard and dense, but not dry. These gingerbreads go well with both tea and coffee. Thank you very much for the recipe, katushafin!

On the eve of the New Year, it is simply impossible not to use such a simple gingerbread recipe. Spices, of course, are a matter of taste, but in this case they must be used. The dough spent the night in the refrigerator, it’s better to let it rest. Bake for 7-8 minutes at 180 degrees. Traditionally, I cook a lot, package it beautifully, and delicious gifts for loved ones are ready! Thanks for the recipe.

I did this for my child’s first tooth. I'm not much of an artist, but the baked goods are very tasty. Next time, however, I’ll add less ginger, it’s a very strong aroma, it’s not for everyone. This is the perfect recipe, soft, delicious gingerbread!
