STEP 1

How to make New Year's gingerbread with icing? Prepare the necessary products. Wash the egg and dry with napkins. Take the highest grade flour. Sift it through a fine sieve to saturate it with oxygen and make it more airy.

Add honey, sugar and all spices to the saucepan.

Place the saucepan on the fire. Bring the mixture to a boil while stirring constantly. The sugar should completely dissolve.

Pour the hot mixture into a bowl, add baking soda. Mix well. The mass will lighten and increase slightly in volume.

Add butter to the honey mixture. Mix well. The butter should melt completely into the hot mixture.

Now wait a bit until the mixture cools down. Then beat a raw egg into it. Mix with a whisk until smooth.

Knead the dough, adding flour in parts. Mix first with a spoon, then with your hands. The dough should become thick and not sticky. Focus on its consistency, and not on the volume of flour - you may need more or less of it. Gather the dough into a ball. Wrap the dough in cling film and put it in the refrigerator for half an hour.

Then roll out the dough into a layer about a centimeter thick. Using cutters or stencils, cut out the gingerbread cookies. Gather the remaining dough into a ball again, roll it out and cut it into shapes.

Transfer the gingerbread cookies to a baking tray lined with baking paper. Bake the gingerbread cookies for about 10-12 minutes at 180°C. Focus on your oven. Cool the finished gingerbreads and remove from the paper.

While the gingerbread cookies are cooling, make the glaze. Prepare food for her. If you wish, you can use food coloring to make the glaze colored. But just white also looks beautiful.

Add the egg white to a separate bowl. Sift powdered sugar through a fine sieve.

Using thick white icing, draw an outline on the gingerbread cookies. If it doesn’t turn out smooth, don’t worry, you can gently wipe off the glaze with your finger and draw the outline again. Correct any unevenness with a toothpick. Let the outline dry for about 15 minutes.
STEP 18

Fill the middle of the gingerbread surface with a thinner colored glaze. Correct the edges with a toothpick. Let the glaze harden completely. This will take about an hour.
STEP 19
