  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to fry potatoes in a slow cooker? Prepare ingredients for cooking. Take any vegetable oil you like, but refined. To find out how to choose the right oil for cooking, follow the link at the end of the recipe.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Wash the potatoes thoroughly under running water with a brush, then peel. Cut the potatoes into arbitrary pieces. Do not cut too finely - it may fall apart during frying. It is optimal for the pieces to be about a centimeter thick.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Place the chopped potatoes in a bowl and cover with clean cold water. This way you will remove excess starch from it, which will prevent the pieces from sticking together when frying. Let the potatoes sit like this for 15 minutes.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Meanwhile, peel the onion. cut it into small cubes. If you don't like onions, then this item can be omitted. Or add garlic when frying.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Spread the soaked potatoes in an even layer on a towel or napkin and let them sit for a while to absorb excess liquid. Pat the top of the potatoes with the ends of the towel. Dry potatoes will be better fried and will develop a golden brown crust.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Set the multicooker to the appropriate mode. It depends on the model. On mine it is the “Bake” mode. Frying time is 40 minutes, yours may vary. Let it warm up for a few minutes. Pour oil into it. Warm up the oil. Place the potatoes into the multicooker bowl. Mix it with a special spatula. Close the lid and leave the potatoes to fry. Remember that all multicookers work differently and the time may vary. Read more at the end of the recipe.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

After half the set time, open the multicooker. Stir the potatoes with a spatula. Put onion. Stir again. Close the multicooker with a lid and leave the potatoes to fry until the end of the program. Five minutes before the end, add salt and stir the potatoes. Bon appetit!

I cooked fried potatoes in a slow cooker as an experiment. There are a lot of new potatoes on the market now, so I cook them in different ways). I prepared the potatoes in advance: peeled them, washed them well, cut them into large cubes and soaked them in cold water. After 20 minutes, I laid the cubes on a cotton towel and dried them. Prepared it as indicated in the recipe. After 20 minutes, I added onions to the potatoes. My potatoes didn’t turn out straight fried like in a frying pan. Perhaps the potatoes were too crumbly. I'll try a different variety and fry it on a different setting. But the golden brown crust is not that important to me. My potatoes turned out very tasty! It is tender and aromatic even without spices. And one more plus - these potatoes can be eaten by those who cannot eat heavily fried foods. In general, this recipe is useful for me, I will use it, especially since it is so simple and does not take much time.

Do your potatoes roast well? Not raw inside? I ask because I once fried potatoes in a slow cooker. It turned out half-baked for me.
