Christmas cake with tangerines in a slow cooker

Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1

All products should be at room temperature. We remove the oil several hours in advance. Tangerines must be thoroughly cleaned of white film and veins and divided into slices. Grind dried fruits if necessary, pour alcohol for several hours.
STEP 2

Now we need to caramelize the tangerines. Fry them in butter, sprinkled with powdered sugar, on both sides until lightly browned.
STEP 3

This is what tangerine slices should look like.

Remove from the pan into a plate.
STEP 5

Place dried fruits and alcohol in a frying pan and evaporate over low heat, stirring.
STEP 6

Place in a bowl. Let's cool everything down.
STEP 7

Now let's make the dough. Beat the softened butter with sugar and vanilla, add the eggs one at a time, beating until we get a foamy, homogeneous mass.

Add flour mixed with salt and baking powder and mix gently with a spatula.
STEP 9

Add spices and mix.
STEP 10

Add nuts and dried fruits one by one.
STEP 11

Mix with a silicone spatula. The result is a fairly thick dough.
STEP 12

Grease the bottom and sides of the saucepan with oil, cover the bottom with a circle of baking paper or a silicone mat. Place a third of the dough and half of the tangerines on it.
STEP 13

Then the second layer of dough and again tangerines.
STEP 14

Cover with the remaining dough and place the saucepan in the slow cooker.
STEP 15

Turn on the Baking mode for an hour and a half. After the multicooker beeps, do not open the lid for 10-15 minutes. This is the cake you get.
STEP 16

We tip it onto a plate and remove the paper. Cover with a lid or bowl and put in a cool place for at least 12 hours, or better yet, for a day.
STEP 17

After this, we decorate with powdered sugar, tangerine slices and orange zest. You can even arrange a fiery extravaganza - pour rum on it and set it on fire. Fantastic spectacle!
