    We will need: half a fork of cabbage, pumpkin - 200 g, onions - 2 pcs, carrots - 1 pc, tomatoes - I took frozen 400 g, spices to taste.

    First of all, you need to chop the cabbage.

    Grate the pumpkin on a coarse grater.

    . Add all this to the cabbage, stir well and squeeze - then the cabbage will release juice. Next, you need to sprinkle it with allspice, pour a little vinegar on it, and stir. The dish should sit for about 3 hours.

    Fry it in a heated frying pan (don't forget to add butter). Sprinkle with spices and mix well.

    When the onion is transparent, place it on the prepared cabbage. And then fry everything over fairly high heat.

    Peel the tomatoes and chop them.

    Add tomatoes to cabbage and stir. Now reduce the heat, cover with a lid, and simmer until done.

    At the end you can add salt and pepper, but do everything to taste. For example, you don’t have to add pepper at all if you don’t like spicy dishes, although it makes cabbage taste very interesting. Sprinkle with herbs.

I learned real Ukrainian cooking recipes from my mother-in-law, a purebred Ukrainian. It’s not for nothing that when making fun of Ukrainian cuisine, everyone remembers lard. In Ukraine they do not fry in butter - only in vegetable or melted lard. Food prepared with a mixture of these two fats tastes best. In addition, stewed cabbage cooked in vegetable oil can be eaten later without heating. And the mother-in-law fries the pumpkin separately from the cabbage over high heat.
