Bulgarian apple pie

It's easier to prepare and eats faster. This pie is so simple and quick that even a child can make it. I used to make this pie by grating a stick of butter on top. The pie turned out tasty, but a bit greasy. This time I filled it with milk. It was just as juicy, but less caloric. It is better to use sweet and sour apples; the juicier the better. When rubbing, do not drain the released juice. It will make the filling more juicy.

  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make Bulgarian apple pie? Prepare your ingredients.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Prepare a dry mixture from flour, semolina, sugar and baking powder. Divide it into 3 equal parts.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Filling. I prefer sweet and sour apples, but you can choose any according to your taste.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Wash the apples, peel them, remove the core and grate them on a coarse grater. If the honey is candied, melt it.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Line the bottom of the baking pan with parchment. My form is 21 cm by 27 cm. If you choose a round pan, preferably one with a diameter of 22 cm. Grease the parchment and sides of the pan with butter. Pour the first part of the dough into the bottom of the pan.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Spread half of the grated apples evenly on top, sprinkle with ½ tbsp. l. cinnamon, pour 1 tbsp. l. honey

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Repeat layers. Sprinkle the top of the pie with the remaining dry mixture.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Pour milk over the top of the pie. Using a knife, make holes in the cake from top to bottom so that the milk saturates all the layers. Bake the pie for 40-45 minutes at 180°C.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Cool the finished cake completely in the mold and only then can it be removed from the mold and cut into pieces.

At first I thought it was a three-cup cake, but it contains milk. I decided to try out a new product) It’s very easy to prepare, I like it and I don’t have to knead the dough. I passed the apples through the “grater” attachment on a meat grinder, so it took a couple of minutes. I’m just not a fan of using a hand grater, and I don’t have the patience to grate a kilogram of apples) so all the layers were prepared quickly and easily. There was a question about milk. Will dry dough soak through? To make sure everything was soaked, I took a wide rectangular shape. I added a piece of butter to the milk and heated everything in the microwave, then poured it over the pie and pierced the layers with a knife. I let the finished pie cool completely and cut it right in the pan. The milk was absorbed perfectly. Despite the wide shape, the cake came out quite tall. At the same time, it is very gentle and soft. It’s not noticeable at all that the dough was loose; the “cakes” turned out to be soft, airy and slightly moist. The result was a full-fledged apple pie, although it took minimal time to prepare. Thank you Maria, the pie is great!

Not enough milk. All the flour was left unbaked

It seems like I did everything according to the recipe, step by step, laid it out in layers, poured it with milk, poked it thoroughly with skewers (because of this, I think, my layers are practically invisible). but the bottom of the pie was still dry. The taste is also so-so (too much sugar), charlotte is tastier and less capricious.
