  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make buckwheat with meatballs in the oven? Prepare all products according to the list. What minced meat is best to use? Absolutely any minced meat will do, be it chicken, pork, beef or a mixture of several types of meat. In the recipe I used ready-made store-bought minced pork.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Peel the onion and garlic, rinse and dry. I had small onions available, so I increased their number to three.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Cut the onion into small cubes. Add half of the chopped onion to the minced meat, and set the other half aside for now. Grate the garlic on a fine grater or pass through a garlic press and add to the meat. Mix everything well.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Add salt to taste and ground black pepper to the minced meat. At this stage, you can also use your favorite spices and seasonings (for example, ground paprika, smoked ground pepper, Italian herbs, dried basil or oregano, and so on). Knead everything thoroughly again and leave to sit for 5-10 minutes.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

At this time, do some buckwheat. Wash the cereal several times in clean water and drain in a colander. Place the buckwheat in a baking dish. Add the remaining chopped onion and vegetable oil. Add salt to taste.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

    Mix everything.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Form the minced meat into equal sized meatballs.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Place the meatballs on top of the buckwheat. Pour in water. How to determine the exact amount of water needed for baking? For 1 serving of buckwheat you need to take 2 servings of water. For example, for one glass of buckwheat you will need 2 glasses of water. The water can reach almost to the edges of the mold. Don't worry, the cereal will gradually absorb water as it cooks. Cover the pan with foil.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Place the buckwheat with meatballs in an oven preheated to 200 degrees and bake for about 30-40 minutes. Next, remove the foil and leave the baking dish until all components are fully cooked (from 10 to 20 minutes). Attention! Cooking times and temperatures may differ from those indicated in the recipe depending on the capabilities of your oven! Remove the finished dish from the oven and sprinkle with fresh herbs.

    Ready! Serve hot.

Simply a great dish for a family dinner! Two in one, it's very convenient. My husband liked buckwheat better, he says that I haven’t cooked it like this before) I decided not to add raw onions to it, I was afraid that it would crunch. So I fried it in a frying pan and added grated carrots for juiciness. Accordingly, I no longer added oil to raw buckwheat. I made meatballs from pork. From spices I added paprika, dried parsley, black pepper and dried vegetables. I beat the minced meat well and formed the meatballs with wet hands. I poured water as the author recommends) The dish was perfectly baked. The buckwheat turned out juicy and very tasty, and the meatballs turned out like meat cutlets. The whole family appreciated it) It’s very tasty, satisfying and aromatic! I recommend everyone to cook this miracle for dinner!

I really liked it too! I prepared it with small children up to kindergarten age in mind, so I used a third of a glass more water, and in a slow cooker instead of an oven. The buckwheat turned out as if with a little gravy, just right for children. Very tasty 😍 And convenient to cook. I threw everything raw into one container, set the timer and left.
