Borscht in a slow cooker with pork

Very rich, bright, incredibly tasty and so simple! It’s even easier to cook borscht with pork in a slow cooker than in a saucepan. There is no need to dirty extra dishes. You can add fresh garlic and chopped herbs to the finished first dish for flavor. And you regulate the thickness of the soup yourself.

I prepared borscht in a slow cooker with pork. I really love cooking in a slow cooker and the borscht turns out especially delicious in it! I prepared it according to the recipe, only I added a little homemade tomato juice to the vegetables when frying them, because the winter greenhouse tomato turned out to be almost tasteless (((The result was a very tasty borscht! Thank you, Yulia M.!

When you don’t have time to stand at the stove, a multicooker comes in very handy. Today I intended to make borscht and, in the hope of saving energy and time, I turned to this recipe. I cooked borscht in a slow cooker with pork. First of all, I fried the meat in the “Fry” mode. Then I added chopped vegetables - onions, carrots, bell peppers and beets (the peppers and beets were frozen). I also added tomato paste, which I used instead of tomatoes. I mixed everything and left it to fry in the same mode. After about 10 minutes I put potatoes, cabbage and bay leaves into the bowl. I salted everything and filled it with hot water. Next, I cooked the borscht in the “Stew” mode for about 1 hour. Needless to say, the borscht turned out delicious! Tomato paste from a recently opened jar, very bright and rich, imparted these qualities to the borscht, which acquired a beautiful color and pleasant taste. And, of course, sweet beets with carrots and spicy peppers added their own notes. I served borscht with mayonnaise. Thank you very much for the recipe!

It turned out to be a hearty and rich borscht in a slow cooker! I never particularly liked borscht, no matter who I tried, it was kind of pale pink, sometimes a little red, it didn’t look very appetizing. And my husband loves borscht! So I had to work a little and cook it so that the soup would be a rich red color with a rich and satisfying broth, which would be pleasant to serve not only to your household, but also if guests come. My son, who is only 2 years old, also enjoys eating this borscht. Thanks for the working recipe.
