The technique of preparing vegetables and fruits for the winter without sterilization is becoming more popular due to the reduction in time spent fiddling around in the kitchen, sometimes quite significantly. It’s not entirely clear what scares people so much, because this procedure seems to be supposed to protect homemade preparations. But today, most housewives skip it not only after, but also before filling glass containers. That is, they limit themselves only to thoroughly washing empty cans with warm water and soda. With rinsing with boiled water.
Some recipes specifically indicate that filled containers must be sterilized before screwing. If there is such a step in step-by-step preparation, it is better to follow it. In other cases, when this is not directly indicated, we safely skip the tedious technology. Experienced housewives confidently declare that any vegetables, including tomatoes, will feel great until winter without sterilization.
