Yeast pie in a slow cooker with poppy seeds

A multicooker will prepare a lush yeast pie with a crispy crust. I didn’t really believe that you could make a good yeast pie in a slow cooker. Still, making baked goods from yeast dough is slightly different from making charlottes, muffins and biscuits. But I took a risk. The result surprised me a little, the pie turned out to be, dare I say it, AIRY, with a crispy crust and an indescribably delicious aroma (but this is due to the poppy seeds). It is not difficult to perform; the main difficulty lies in turning it over. But in a slow cooker, the pie does not burn, rises perfectly, and produces a deliciously crispy crust.

  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

    Ingredients

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

    Dissolve yeast in warm whey

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Add 1/4 cup sugar, salt, egg, vegetable oil and flour. Knead the dough. Cover the dough with a cotton towel and leave to ripen in a warm place. Don't forget to reset from time to time.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

While the dough is ripening, prepare the filling. Rinse the poppy seeds, add water and simmer for 45 minutes.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Drain the water and mash the poppy seeds with a cast iron pestle.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Add 1/2 cup sugar and butter to the poppy seeds. Leave a little butter to grease the crust.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

When the dough does not stick to your hands, it is ready.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Roll out the dough into a huge layer, about 1-2 cm thick.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Grease with butter and spread the filling on the crust.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Roll into a roll, pinch the edges.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

    Roll into a pie

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Place the pie in the multicooker bowl. Turn on the "Multi-cook" mode, set the temperature to 40 degrees, time 20 minutes. This is necessary to allow the cake to rest. Then, without opening the lid, set the “Baking” program, time 1 hour.

  13. STEP 13

    STEP 13

Allow the multicooker to complete the program. The bottom is baked, and the top is white - carefully, so as not to burn yourself, using a steaming container, remove the pie, turn it over with the white part down, place it in the bowl and, again, set the “Baking” program for 1 hour.

  14. STEP 14

    STEP 14

Let the device run the program. Open the lid and the pie is ready.

  15. STEP 15

    STEP 15

Remove the cake, cover with a cotton towel and cool

  16. STEP 16

    STEP 16

Dust the cake with powdered sugar and cut into portions.

Maslova Tatiana, thank you very much for the recipe for such a wonderful pie! I’m gradually mastering my slow cooker, but so far I’ve only cooked dishes in it and haven’t tried baking yet. I also doubted that a good yeast cake could be made in a slow cooker. But thanks to your recipe, now I’m going to try it! I think this pie can be made not only with poppy seeds. It should also be delicious with nuts and raisins. I'm even willing to risk baking this pie with fruit, such as apricots!
