Turkey with vegetables in a slow cooker
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to make turkey with vegetables in a slow cooker? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. You can take a whole turkey carcass or a certain part of it, fillet or with bones, depending on how many people this dish is being prepared for. I took the fillet. The set of vegetables can also be changed according to taste and availability. Wash the turkey meat in running water, dry, cut into portions and put it aside while we deal with the vegetables.
STEP 2
Peel the onions, rinse, dry, cut into cubes, and set aside for now. You can use regular onions, I used purple ones.
STEP 3
Wash the carrots, peel and cut into cubes, strips or grate, depending on how you like, also set aside for now. I recommend grating part of the carrots to make a soft, thick gravy, and cutting the other part of the carrots into cubes to preserve the texture of the vegetable.
STEP 4
Wash the potatoes, peel them and cut them into pieces of any shape. In the next steps we will return to potatoes.
STEP 5
Wash the tomatoes, dry them, cut out the place where the stalk attaches and cut the pulp into cubes, set aside for a while.
STEP 6
Peel the garlic cloves and cut into small cubes or chop with a garlic press, put it aside, we’ll come back to it a little later.
STEP 7
Pour vegetable oil into the multicooker and turn on the “frying” program for 10 minutes. Place onions and carrots in heated oil. Fry the vegetables, stirring with a wooden or silicone spatula, do not close the multicooker lid. Fry the onions and carrots until the onions are transparent and the carrots are soft.
STEP 8
Add turkey meat to the vegetables in the multicooker bowl. Fry the meat and vegetables together, stirring with a spatula, until the meat turns white. Then place the cooked potatoes and diced carrots into the multicooker bowl. Add salt and black peppercorns.
STEP 9
Pour a glass of water into the multicooker. Turn on the “quenching” program for 40 minutes. Close the multicooker with a lid and you can go about your business. After 30 minutes, add the cooked tomatoes and garlic and a couple of bay leaves, stir and leave on the “stew” program until the multicooker beeps that the dish is ready. Turn off the multicooker and let the dish stand covered for another 20 minutes. Cooking times are approximate.
STEP 10
Serve the turkey with vegetables to the table, sprinkled with chopped fresh herbs on top, with fresh, sliced bread and sauce to taste. Bon appetit!
