  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make steamed meatballs in a slow cooker? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. You can use any minced meat: beef, pork, chicken or turkey, or combining different types of minced meat, it’s even tastier. You will learn all the subtleties of choosing rice by reading the article at the end of this recipe.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

First boil the rice in plenty of salted water until half cooked. It takes half as much time. If you need to cook rice for 15 minutes until it is fully cooked, then for it to be half cooked, you need to cook it for 7-8 minutes. Therefore, read the instructions on the package! It is better to use steamed rice so that it retains its shape during cooking and steaming. Place the rice in a colander and cool. It should turn out crumbly.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

It is best to use fresh minced meat. If the minced meat is frozen, then defrost it in the refrigerator in the evening. Squeeze out excess moisture. Due to excess liquid in the minced meat, the meatballs may fall apart. Therefore, before mixing the minced meat with other ingredients, it is better to check it for excessive moisture.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Wash the carrots under running water with a brush, peel and grate on a medium or coarse grater. The finer the carrots are grated, the softer the texture of the meatballs.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Wash the dill in running water, dry and finely chop with a knife. In addition to dill, you can chop other herbs to taste: parsley, cilantro.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

In a bowl, combine minced meat, rice, carrots, egg and dill. Salt and pepper everything. You can add your favorite spices if you wish.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Knead the minced meat thoroughly with your hands.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Form small round meatballs from the resulting minced meat and place them in a special bowl with holes in the bottom for steaming. My bowl fit 8 meatballs. I put the remaining 4 meatballs in a bag and froze.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Pour 2-3 glasses of water into the main bowl of the multicooker. If desired, add allspice and bay leaves to flavor the steam. Place a rack of meatballs on top.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Cook the meatballs on the “Steam” mode for about 40 minutes. Depending on the brand of multicooker, it may take a little less or more time. The time and mode are indicated approximately; be guided by the operating characteristics of your equipment. Read more about the operation of multicookers in a separate article at the end of the recipe.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Serve the finished meatballs with steamed rice immediately with any side dish and sour cream. Bon appetit!

I made steamed meatballs in a slow cooker using this recipe. I used homemade minced pork and chicken, which I prepared myself with the addition of onions and garlic, as well as ground coriander. Boil the rice until half cooked. I finely grated the carrots and used chopped frozen dill. I combined all the ingredients and formed small balls with wet hands. I put the remaining minced meat in the freezer as recommended by the author. I had 6 meatballs in my steaming container. Steamed it in a slow cooker for 40 minutes. Everything is very simple and not at all difficult. The meatballs with carrots turned out juicy, tender and very tasty. Wonderful recipe! The child ate half of it right away, he really liked these balls. I served the meatballs with stewed cabbage. Great recipe! Many thanks to the author 😊

Simple, fast, you won’t get fat! What more do you need from dinner! Steamed meatballs in a slow cooker are good with a light salad or with a rich sauce, as my men like. Great recipe and no need to stand at the stove. Thanks for the recipe!
