    Wash the apples, dry them, remove stems and seeds. If desired, you can peel the peel. Cut the prepared apples into slices.

How I love apple sponge pie! This is the very first pie that I learned to cook in my youth. I especially love the amazing sugary crunch that comes out on top. That very moment when a knife enters it and it cracks under the blade with such a sweet crunch! For me it's just music!
