Spelled porridge

Porridge from a fairy tale with a nutty taste and incredibly healthy. You can cook it in both water and milk. I like spelled porridge on water better.

    STEP 1

This is what spelled looks like. It needs to be washed and sorted if necessary.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Spelled, cooked in water. Fill the cereal with water up to the shoulders of the pot, close the lid and place in the oven for 2-3 hours. Don't forget to add salt.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Spelled cooked in milk. For this option, you need to take less water and cook the cereal until almost done, and then add milk and simmer for another 30 minutes on the stove.

  4. STEP 4

This is ready-made porridge. It doesn't boil well and is crumbly. You can add butter or whatever you like. Sprinkle with herbs. Spelled is also good with mushrooms.

I have already prepared spelled porridge. With milk for breakfast. This time I decided to cook spelled porridge as a side dish for meat. I filled four pots (0.5 l) with spelled 1/3. I poured water up to the shoulders, as written in the recipe. The porridge was baked at 180 degrees. I put the pots in a cold oven so that they would not spoil due to the sudden temperature change. After an hour, I salted the spelled, and after two hours the porridge was ready. There was a lot of porridge! I didn’t expect the cereal to fill the pots completely. One pot was enough for five servings. From another pot of spelled I made milk porridge for breakfast. Spelled is somewhat reminiscent of pearl barley. When cooked, it is soft, but the grains still remain whole and not overcooked. Thanks for the recipe!
