STEP 1
1. Peel the apples and cut them thinly into slices, pour over lemon juice to prevent them from darkening.2. Beat eggs with sugar, salt, zest, add flour with baking powder and milk. Beat everything until the mass is homogeneous.3. Grease a baking tray with butter and sprinkle with sugar (a little) and breadcrumbs.4. Mix 2/3 of the apples with the dough, and randomly place the remaining third on a baking sheet on top (preferably in a round shape measuring 27–28 cm). Don't be alarmed - there seems to be very little dough, but there are a lot of apples.
STEP 2
It kind of slightly envelops the apples, and that’s the point. In the oven it will rise 5. Take solid butter and place it in tiny pieces on the apples, sprinkle a little sugar and cinnamon on top to taste. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and bake for 35–40.7 minutes. You can leave a few slices to beautifully place on top of the pie.
