Potato zrazy with cheese in the oven

A dietary version of zraz with a very tasty filling and crispy crust. The very tasty filling, which contains hard cheese and herbs, becomes more juicy due to these additional ingredients. You can use any minced meat. Chicken or turkey fillet will make this dish more dietary. Baking in the oven makes the zrazy even more dietary, since they do not absorb the fat that is in the frying pan during the frying process (with the more usual method of preparing this dish). Baking will also eliminate the need to stand over a hot stove and save you time. When baked in the oven, a crispy crust forms on the zrazy. And this is delicious!

    How to make potato zrazy with cheese in the oven? Prepare your food. Peel the vegetables, wash them and the herbs. Take any minced meat (I used pork and beef). You can buy ready-made. I prefer to cook it myself.

    Cut the potatoes into 4-6 pieces (depending on size), put them in a saucepan, cover with cold water and boil until tender.

    Mash the finished potatoes into a thick puree, add the egg and salt.

    Grate the cheese. Finely chop the greens, add them to the minced meat along with an egg (if you think the minced meat will fall apart without it) and a spoonful of sour cream or mayonnaise. Add salt and pepper to taste, mix the minced meat thoroughly again until smooth.

    Form a cake about 5 mm thick on your hand. It is better to do this with your hands soaked in water, then the potato dough will not stick to your hands. Place minced meat in the center of each flatbread.

    Place some mashed potatoes on top of the minced meat and form zrazy into the desired shape. I made them oval. Then roll the zrazy in breadcrumbs. And do this as long as there is potato dough and minced meat.

    Grease a baking dish or baking sheet with vegetable oil and place zrazy in it. Place in the oven for 40 minutes, bake at 160-180 degrees (depend on your oven) until golden brown. You will need to turn the zrazy once during cooking.

Tatiana! Thank you for your nice review! I love zrazy very much, but they were very rarely prepared at home. I usually ate them at a party, but I tried to make them myself a long time ago, but it didn’t work out well because the potato dough stuck to my hands. Only later did I learn that these zrazy need to be made with wet hands and breaded in breadcrumbs. That's it, the issue has been resolved, hurray!!! Since then, everything has started to work out. By the way, if you are too lazy to peel the potatoes, you can boil them in their jackets. Then it becomes easier and faster to clean it! Then mash it into a puree and then proceed according to the recipe... I posted this recipe on Khrumka, you can take a look if you are interested!

Irochka!! So I made it!!...potato...my husband said warily, but realizing that this (to simplify it completely) was his favorite puree, and even with a delicious cutlet inside, he was delighted. I would like to note two interesting points: 1 - my husband was I’m sure that the “puree” is made with milk and butter (although according to the recipe only an egg is added). 2nd - my discovery: minced meat with herbs is very tasty.
