Pig tartlets

Pig Tartlets are a fun holiday appetizer. For this snack, it is better to use shortcrust pastry tartlets, as the waffle ones will become wet and will not be as tasty. The preparation of the dish is simple, but it looks simply amazing. Knowing this recipe, you will always find something to surprise your guests. A festive table with such an original appetizer in the shape of cute pigs will be truly elegant and extraordinary!

  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

Grate processed cheese (2 pieces) on a fine grater. Boil the eggs hard, drain in cold water, peel and grate on a coarse grater. Mix eggs, cheese and chopped garlic in a convenient bowl. Season with mayonnaise and mix well. Take mayonnaise with 50% fat content. Buy processed cheese that is expensive and of good quality. You can use regular hard or smoked sausage cheese. It will turn out no less tasty.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

With wet hands, form balls large enough to fit into the tartlets. I used small shortcrust pastry tartlets, I got 14 balls for 14 tartlets. You can go further and put a salted nut, olive or black olive in the middle of each ball. I'll do that next time.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Place the balls into tartlets. This is not difficult to do, the main thing is not to spoil the shape and not crush them.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

For decoration we will need sausage and prunes, which will go on the eyes. Instead of prunes, you can use peppercorns and simply insert them into the places for the eyes - it will be even easier. Cut the sausage into thin pieces. We cut out small squares that will go on the ears - 28 pieces (2 for each pig). I cut out the spots using a pen cap - we make 14 of them in total. Cut the prunes into thin sticks.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

We insert the sausage squares into the places for the ears so that a triangle looks out from above. You can make a small cut so as not to crush the pig's face. We place the spots in their places. We make the eyes from prunes - we push the sticks inward, leaving the edges peeking out. The pigs are ready, all that remains is to stick a sprig of dill into each piece. These are the cute cuties we got.

I made these cute tartlets for the New Year, they turned out so cute. The only thing is that it takes time, but it was worth it. Thank you for such a great idea!
