Pie with potatoes and minced meat in the oven
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to bake a pie with potatoes and minced meat in the oven? Prepare the necessary ingredients for the dough. The butter should be cold, so you need to remove it from the refrigerator at the last moment, just before adding it.
STEP 2
Sift the flour. Thanks to this, it will be saturated with oxygen, and the finished dough will be airier and fluffier. Place flour, cold butter and salt in a blender bowl.
STEP 3
Beat everything into fine crumbs.
STEP 4
Add egg and sour cream.
STEP 5
Quickly knead into a pliable, soft dough. Knead quickly so that the heat from your palms does not melt the butter.
STEP 6
Wrap the dough in cling film and place in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
STEP 7
Prepare the necessary ingredients for the filling
STEP 8
Peel the potatoes and cut into small cubes. Largely chopped potatoes will most likely not be baked, while the dough will begin to burn on the bottom. Therefore, immediately cut the potatoes smaller.
STEP 9
You can use any minced meat. I had a mixed pork and beef one. But minced meat from one type of meat, as well as chicken or turkey, is suitable. Choose the one you like best, but with a moderate amount of fat. If there is too much fat in the minced meat, then during baking a lot of moisture will be released, which will soak the dough from below..
STEP 10
Add minced meat and sour cream to the potatoes.
STEP 11
Season the filling with salt and pepper and mix well.
STEP 12
Divide the chilled dough into two unequal parts. Roll out most of it into a circle larger than the diameter of the baking pan. Place the dough in the mold and make high sides. I have a mold diameter of 20 cm, but you can take more - up to 26 cm. Your pie will just not be so high. To make it easier to remove the pie, I line the mold with strips of baking paper. By pulling them you can then easily remove the cake from the mold without damaging it.
STEP 13
Place the filling on the dough and smooth it out.
STEP 14
Roll out the second part of the dough into a circle equal to the diameter of the baking dish.
STEP 15
Cover the filling with a second layer of dough. Carefully pinch the edges. Make a hole in the center for steam to escape. Place the cake in an oven preheated to 180°C and bake for about 1 hour or a little longer. Check the cake periodically to ensure that the dough on the bottom and sides does not burn. Focus on your oven. If the juice in the center of the pie is clear, then the meat is ready.
STEP 16
Remove the finished pie from the mold and cut into pieces. Can be served hot, warm or cold. Bon appetit!
