  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make onion rings in batter? Prepare the indicated products. Use onions or leeks, but only the white part. Breadcrumbs can be replaced with crushed chips of any kind. You can use any spices to suit your taste.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Peel the onions, rinse in water, dry and cut into large wide rings so that they do not burst during the frying process, since the vegetable becomes softer during heat treatment. Place the slices in a deep container.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

In a separate bowl or bowl, beat the chicken egg with premium wheat flour, salt and ground black pepper to taste. If desired, you can add a little hot red pepper, ground parika, turmeric to enhance the taste and color of the dish. Adding spices to the batter will save you a lot of extra work, because many people sprinkle spices on each onion ring.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Heat vegetable oil in a saucepan or cauldron until boiling. Use unscented oil: olive, sunflower or corn. Read about oils in the article below the steps. Dip the onion ring into the batter and immediately roll in breadcrumbs. Many people advise dipping the onion rings several times alternately: first in batter, then in breadcrumbs, but this will make the breading thicker and the higher the chance that it will simply fall off from the onion slices.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Place the breaded onion rings in boiling oil (there should be a lot of it) and fry for about 1 minute until golden brown. There is no need to turn the workpiece over - it will fry evenly in oil if there is enough of it! The main thing is not to overcook, otherwise the rings will turn out dark in color with a bitter aftertaste. Try to act carefully so that splashes of boiling oil do not get on your skin!

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Line a plate with a paper towel and use a slotted spoon to place the battered golden onion rings onto it. Let excess fat drip off for about 1 minute. Be sure to try the fried onions in the batter while it's still warm!

Thanks for the recipe. I tried cooking onions in batter. Added salt, a mixture of peppers and turmeric to the egg. It turned out very fragrant. The onion crust turned out crispy. This is a wonderful snack.
