Octopus in tomato sauce in the oven
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
Rinse the octopus, cut off the head, leaving only the tentacles.
STEP 2
Place the octopus in boiling water and cook over low heat for 1 hour.
STEP 3
Preparing the sauce. Finely chop the onion and garlic.
STEP 4
Pour olive oil into a heated frying pan, add chopped onion and fry well over high heat.
STEP 5
Add sugar.
STEP 6
Add garlic to the onion.
STEP 7
Add butter.
STEP 8
Cut the pepper into large strips and add to the frying pan with the onions and garlic.
STEP 9
Add tomatoes to the pan with fried onions, garlic and pepper. Simmer over low heat.
STEP 10
Cut the hot pepper into rings and add to the pan with the sauce.
STEP 11
Add cream.
STEP 12
Remove the seeds from half a lemon and squeeze the juice into the sauce.
STEP 13
Add salt and pepper to taste.
STEP 14
Add Worcestershire sauce.
STEP 15
Finely chop the capers and place in a frying pan. The sauce is ready.
STEP 16
Remove the octopus from the pan. Cut off the tentacles.
STEP 17
Place half of the sauce on the bottom of an ovenproof dish.
STEP 18
Place the tentacles on the sauce.
STEP 19
Cut the peeled potatoes into large cubes or rings. Place in the mold on the tentacles.
STEP 20
Spoon the rest of the sauce over the potatoes.
STEP 21
Cover the pan tightly with foil on all sides. Place in the oven for 40 minutes, set the temperature to 180 degrees.
STEP 22
After 40 minutes, take out the mold, make a cut in the foil, place on plates, garnish with fresh herbs, the dish is ready! Bon appetit!
