  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to bake simple oatmeal cookies? To make cookies, use oat flakes with a minimum percentage of flattening. That is, those that need to cook longer. They contain the maximum amount of useful substances. Pour the cereal into the blender bowl.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Grind the cereal to the consistency you like. You can try to turn them into flour. I prefer the texture of the cookies to be more uneven. Set the cereal aside for now.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Beat a chicken egg into a bowl, add salt and all the sugar. Whisk the mixture until smooth.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

This is the consistency the base for the dough should have at this stage.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Add sunflower oil and soda, quenched with lemon juice. Stir again.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Add oatmeal and stir the dough until smooth. Now it’s convenient to do this with a tablespoon.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Sift premium wheat flour into the dough in parts. Stir and look at the structure of the dough. If it sticks too much to the spoon, keep adding flour.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

As a result, the dough structure should still remain sticky and viscous. But it should keep its shape well. You can, of course, add more flour, beyond the amount specified in the recipe, so that the dough can be rolled out with a rolling pin. But, in this case, most likely, the cookies will turn out oaky after baking. It only took me half a cup of flour. That is about 100 grams.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

On a floured surface, form the dough into a ball and flatten it. Now it will be convenient to cut it into eight equal parts with a knife. It's better to cut into segments like pizza. This way the cookies will turn out as uniform as possible.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

With your hands lightly moistened with water, first form the dough into balls and then flatten them into round cookie shapes. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with quality baking paper. I use a special Teflon sheet. Bake the cookies in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for half an hour. Times will vary for everyone. But focus on the structure of the cookies. It should dry out slightly and brown a little on the bottom.

Sometimes you want real oatmeal cookies. Nowadays you can rarely find this in stores, so I bake it myself) The recipe suggests using long-cooking flakes. I’ve already baked with these, I thought it was a little dry, so I risked trying it with quick-cooking flakes (3 minutes). Grind them in a blender until they become very fine crumbs. I also placed the remaining ingredients into the blender and kneaded the dough. I used a little less flour in the dough, but then I needed it for dusting. The dough formed into a lump, which I divided into eight parts. She formed the dough into a ball, then flattened it into a flat cake. The cookies were baked for half an hour, they became golden brown and cracked a little. It looks beautiful and appetizing) The cookies are soft, do not crumble, airy with a crispy crust. You can't feel the oatmeal in the structure, and the taste isn't very noticeable either. But there is the aroma of real oatmeal cookies! The recipe is basic, you can add chopped chocolate, raisins, dried cherries or nuts. I was completely satisfied with the recipe. Thank you!

Thank you! I'm just starting to get used to the oven. Everything worked out and was very tasty! It just crumbles a lot. Will using less baking powder solve the problem?
