I made meatballs without gravy in a frying pan for lunch. The cooking turned out to be quite simple and quick. I used minced pork for the meatballs. I boiled the rice (I used short grain rice). I combined minced meat, rice, chopped onion and egg in a deep bowl, mixed everything and added salt (I did not add spices). Having formed the meatballs, I fried them on both sides, then poured hot water over them and simmered them under the lid for 15 minutes. It turned out delicious! The meatballs steamed well and came out quite soft, but dense. The rice inside became transparent. We ate meatballs with mashed potatoes and vegetable salad. Thank you very much for the recipe!
