Step-by-step preparation

Cooking timeCooking time: 25 mins
  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

Let's prepare the food - peel and wash the potatoes. It is better to use boiling water for the water (which we will pour). This will shorten the cooking time, and in general it is better to pour boiling water over the potatoes - this will preserve more vitamins))))

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Cut the potatoes into large pieces, add salt and pepper to taste, pour boiling water so that it just covers the potatoes. Place the bowl in the multicooker, select the “steam” program, and set the time to 15 minutes.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

After the multicooker signal about the end of the program, check the readiness of the potatoes - pierce them with a knife, they should stick in and out very easily) If you think that the potatoes are not ready enough, add another 5 minutes in the same program, this will definitely be enough. Carefully drain the water from the finished potatoes (if you want, you can transfer them to a saucepan; I prefer to do everything in the multicooker bowl).

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Mash the potatoes with a masher, add butter...

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

The milk should be warm, one might say hot.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Pour hot milk into our puree and mix thoroughly again.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Our delicious and aromatic puree is ready)))

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Serve the puree hot and enjoy)) Bon appetit!

I tried to cook mashed potatoes in a slow cooker, I was wondering what would happen. I took one and a half kilograms of potatoes. Peeled and cut into small pieces so that the potatoes could boil better. I poured boiling water over it, as the author advises. I didn’t find the “steam” program, maybe it’s a double boiler, but I decided to look in my instructions and set the “stew” program for 20 minutes. My potatoes were not very boiled, so I added another 10 minutes. First I kneaded it with a masher, and then beat it a little with an immersion blender. By the way, I transferred the potatoes from the multicooker bowl into a saucepan, I was afraid of damaging the coating. I added more milk and butter, because I also had more potatoes) Overall, the process is interesting, but I’m more used to cooking on the stove) And the puree turned out good, tasty, there was just enough milk and butter.

I made mashed potatoes in a slow cooker using this recipe. How simple and easy it is. There is no need to stand near the stove, wait until it boils, skim off the foam, turn down the heat, and watch when it’s cooked. I peeled the potatoes, cut them into pieces, put them in the multicooker bowl, filled them with water, added salt, closed the lid, turned on the “cooking” mode for 20 minutes and went about my business) After the beep, I drained the water and added both milk and butter at once. I mashed the potatoes with a masher and voila. Mashed potatoes are ready. I served mashed potatoes with baked fish. Mashed potatoes in a slow cooker are, in principle, no different from mashed potatoes on the stove. But here the point is different, in simplicity and ease of preparation. I've always liked working with smart technology. It’s generally difficult to spoil puree, so my dish turned out perfectly. Tender, airy, light, just melts in your mouth. An excellent option for making purees. I recommend to everyone. Many thanks to the author for the idea!

Why do this in a slow cooker??? It's much easier to do this in a regular saucepan...
