  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make mashed potatoes with butter and milk? Prepare your food. Choose boiling varieties of potatoes; they are the most suitable for mashed potatoes. Milk is natural, tasty, of any fat content. Take the highest quality butter, without vegetable additives; the taste of the dish will depend on its taste. Wash the potatoes well under running water with a brush.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Peel the potatoes and rinse thoroughly. Then cut into medium sized pieces. Place it in a suitable sized saucepan with salted water. Place the pan on the stove, cover it with a lid and bring the water to a boil over high heat. While boiling, skim off the foam, reduce the heat to moderate and cook the potatoes until fully cooked. This is approximately 20-30 minutes. The final cooking time will depend on the type of potato.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

After this, drain the water and mash the potatoes well using a special masher. Knead thoroughly so that there are no lumps left.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Now melt the butter along with the milk in a small saucepan and pour this mixture into the mashed potatoes. The milk must be hot. Cold milk causes potatoes to change their usual color to gray and turn out viscous rather than fluffy. Also, cold milk will immediately reduce the temperature of the puree and it will become tasteless.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Using a wooden spoon, beat the potato mixture for a couple of minutes. After this, taste the puree for salt and add it if necessary.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

The result is a soft and airy puree. For a holiday, you can beautifully put it on plates using a pastry bag with curly nozzles or decorate it with a salad ring. And for a regular dinner, a regular serving will do. Bon appetit!

I made wonderful mashed potatoes with butter and milk using this recipe. I added a couple of bay leaves and parsley stems to the water where the potatoes were boiled for flavor. When the potatoes were ready, drained the water and added hot milk and butter. The puree turned out soft and airy. We fried fish for dinner and it turned out to be the perfect side dish.

I really like mashed potatoes with milk and butter because they are easy to prepare. My family loves mashed potatoes with sausages and cutlets. But it can also be served with fish and meat. I first washed and peeled the potatoes. I put a pan of water on the fire, put the potatoes in it, salted them and cooked until tender. Then I drained the water, added milk to the pan and mashed the potatoes with a masher. Mixed everything and added butter. And she mixed it again. The puree is ready. It turned out tender and airy. For lunch we ate mashed potatoes with sausages and vegetable salad.

Making delicious mashed potatoes is not a difficult task. The main thing is to follow all the rules. The author’s recipe is classic, every step of preparation is very clearly spelled out. I often prepare puree and serve it as a side dish for the main dish or on its own for salads. Before serving, lightly sprinkle with olive oil with the addition of white truffle or hot pepper. This gives a special flavor to the puree.
