Manti with minced meat and potatoes and onions
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to make manti with minced meat and potatoes and onions? Start preparing the dish with the dough. How to make the dough? Pour the sifted wheat flour into a deep bowl. It is important to sift the flour to saturate it with oxygen. Then the dough will be airy and soft.
STEP 2
Make a well in the center of the flour, crack a chicken egg into it, add salt and pour in cold boiled water. Be sure to wash your eggs before using them, as even seemingly clean shells can harbor harmful bacteria. It is best to use food grade detergents and a brush.
STEP 3
Knead a stiff, elastic and smooth dough. Be prepared that you may need more or less flour than indicated in the recipe. Focus not on the amount of flour, but on the desired consistency of the dough. Wrap the dough in cling film and leave it to rest for about 20 minutes. During this time, the flour will finally absorb the liquid, gluten will develop well in it, and the dough will be more pliable and easy to work with.
STEP 4
Prepare the filling. How to make the filling? For minced meat, I will use minced pork and beef, taken in equal parts. Manti with such meat turns out more juicy and tasty. But you can cook them with traditional meat - lamb or beef. You can take ready-made minced meat or grind it yourself.
STEP 5
Peel the onions and finely chop with a knife.
STEP 6
Wash the potatoes, peel and finely chop with a knife. If manti is prepared in large quantities, then the potatoes can be grated on a coarse grater. You just need to do this very quickly so that the potatoes do not have time to darken and spoil the dish with their appearance.
STEP 7
Combine minced meat, potatoes and onions in a bowl. Add salt and ground black pepper to taste. Stir.
STEP 8
Remove the dough from the film. Divide it into small pieces, roll out each into a thin square shape on a flour-dusted work surface.
STEP 9
Place some cooked minced meat in the center of each juicy.
STEP 10
Make manta rays. Pinch two opposite edges of the cake.
STEP 11
Then the other two edges, you get something similar to an envelope.
STEP 12
Now connect the corners. The results are beautiful and neat manta rays.
STEP 13
Manti are traditionally cooked in a pressure cooker, but now it can be done in a double boiler or in a steamed slow cooker. In a multicooker, cook the manti on the “steam” program for 40 minutes.
STEP 14
Serve manti with sour cream, mayonnaise or other sauce. Bon appetit!
