STEP 1

How to make lean Viennese waffles in a waffle iron? To begin, prepare the necessary ingredients according to the list. You can replace coconut milk with regular or other plant milk: oat, rice, etc. You can replace regular flour with any gluten-free flour: corn, oat, rice, etc. But keep in mind that you may need more or less other types of flour.
STEP 2

Sift flour with baking powder and cinnamon into a bowl. Thanks to sifting, the flour will be saturated with oxygen, and the finished waffles will turn out more tender and fluffy.
STEP 3

Peel the bananas and break into pieces. Take bananas that are soft, fragrant, not overripe, but not hard and greenish. The skin of bananas should be a rich yellow color without black spots.
STEP 4

In a blender bowl, combine prepared bananas, coconut milk, vegetable oil and sugar. Beat everything until smooth.
STEP 5

Pour the resulting mixture into a bowl. Pour the flour mixture into the banana mixture and stir. You may need more or less flour. If you are making waffles for the first time, add flour in parts. You should get a thick dough, like pancakes. If the dough is very thick, add more milk. If, on the contrary, it is too liquid, add a little more flour. Look at the consistency.
STEP 6

Preheat the electric waffle iron. Place some dough in the center and close the lid. Bake for 5-7 minutes until golden brown. The times are approximate, please use your technique. If waffles stick to the surface of the waffle iron, you can grease the panels with vegetable oil before baking each waffle.
STEP 7

Place the finished lean waffles on a plate and serve, garnished with fresh bananas and mint. Bon appetit!
