Lenten pie with apples in the oven

STEP 1

Prepare all the necessary products. You can take any juice: freshly squeezed or packaged, but it must be sweet juice. But apples are the opposite of sour varieties. Such as Granny Smith, Bogatyr. I have perfectly preserved last year's Antonovka - it is ideal for apple pies. Premium wheat flour, but if you like healthier baked goods, then replace it with whole grain flour. STEP 2

Combine all dry ingredients. I highly recommend sifting the flour. It is thanks to this process that the baked goods are lighter and airier. I only use cinnamon and vanilla as spices. If you like aromatic and spicy dishes, you can add other flavorings. Ground cloves, ginger, and nutmeg are perfect for baking with apples.
STEP 3

Combine juice with butter, add dry ingredients.
STEP 4

Mix well. The dough turns out quite liquid.
STEP 5

Wash the apples, remove the seed pod and cut into thin slices. Apples can be peeled, or they can be used with the peel.
STEP 6

Add apples to the dough, stir and leave for 10 minutes so that the apples absorb some of the dough.
STEP 7

Grease a heat-resistant pie pan with vegetable oil. Pour the dough and bake in an oven preheated to 190 degrees for about 30 minutes. To prevent the apples from burning, you can cover the top of the pie with foil.
STEP 8

While the pie is baking, combine the butter and sugar for a caramel crust and stir until the sugar has dissolved.
STEP 9

Pour the resulting syrup onto the hot pie and return to the oven for 10-15 minutes until the dough is golden and crispy.
STEP 10

I recommend cooling the pie before serving. Although it is tasty both hot and cold. Bon appetit!
