Kovrizhka Honeycomb

A simple gingerbread dough cake will captivate you with its aroma. It is easy to form a “honeycomb” from an obedient dough. Breaking off another piece is very convenient; the gingerbread dough does not crumble so much. The honey filling emphasizes the aroma of the gingerbread and makes it juicier, completely permeating the entire cake. This pastry is quick and easy to prepare, and the aroma fills the entire apartment. Try it, it's delicious!

  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

    Ingredients.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Grind the softened butter with flour into crumbs. Add spices and mix.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

In a separate container, beat the egg with sugar.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Add 2 full spoons of liquid honey and slaked soda. Stir until the honey is completely dissolved.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Pour the sweet mixture into the butter crumbs and mix well.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

We get a soft, pliable dough.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Make balls the size of a walnut from the dough and place them next to each other so that they touch. As they bake, they will grow in size and join tightly together to form a honeycomb. We bake the gingerbread at 190-200 degrees. about 20 minutes.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

While the gingerbread is baking, prepare the glaze. Mix water with sugar and honey and cook over low heat by almost 2 times.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Lubricate the finished hot gingerbread generously with honey glaze. It will immediately begin to be absorbed, saturating the baked goods with a wonderful honey aroma. Also, thanks to the glaze, the gingerbread does not go stale for a long time.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

You can decorate the gingerbread as desired. I crushed a few walnuts and sprinkled them on top of the gingerbread.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Let the gingerbread sit for a bit and soak in the syrup. Enjoy your tea!

Today I baked a gingerbread (added a little cloves to the dough) and soaked it in syrup. And only then did I realize that I had messed up - I missed the moment of boiling the syrup! This made my gingerbreads a little soggy (((. But the taste turned out to be simply amazing!!! Fragrant, honey-like, moderately sweet - SOOO TASTY!!! I even asked for jam in the filling. Julia, THANK YOU FOR THE RECIPE!!! Real deliciousness is beyond anything you won't spoil it)))
