STEP 1
How to cook frozen king prawns in the shell? Prepare the necessary ingredients. There is no need to defrost the shrimp first. Read about how to choose the right shrimp at the end of the recipe. You only need the juice from the lemon, so you can use commercially produced lemon juice.
STEP 2
Place the shrimp in a colander or strainer and rinse thoroughly under warm running water to remove ice, broken pieces, and debris from the shrimp carcasses. Let the water drain.

Add lemon juice, pepper, bay leaf, parsley to boiling water. The spices will give the shrimp a nice spicy taste. Add salt to the water and stir. Let simmer for 2 minutes. The amount of salt may seem like a lot. But don’t be afraid, the shrimp will not be over-salted, as they are cooked in their shell.

Place king prawns in the spiced water.

Wait for it to boil. Cook the shrimp at medium boil for no more than 5 minutes. My shrimp are boiled and frozen, that is, they have already been boiled before freezing. If fresh frozen shrimp are used, that is, unprocessed, then the cooking time for them will increase to 7 minutes. When fresh, these shrimp have a grayish-green color. It is important not to overcook the shrimp so that they retain their softness. But you also can’t undercook it.
STEP 7
When cooked, the shell becomes slightly transparent and the color is brighter. Remove the finished shrimp to a plate with a slotted spoon and let cool. Serve as an appetizer, drizzled with lemon juice and olive oil or with any sauce suitable for shrimp. Shelled shrimp go well with pasta or rice. You can also use them to prepare salads. Bon appetit!
