Delicious vinaigrette with herring, green onions and cabbage

STEP 1
Cook the potatoes in their jackets for 20-25 minutes in salted water until tender. Let cool, peel and cut into cubes.
STEP 2
At the same time as the potatoes, boil the carrots in the same pan for 30 minutes. Cool, peel and cut into cubes the same size as the potatoes.
STEP 3
Boil the beets for 50 minutes, let cool, peel and grate.
STEP 4
Trim the ends of the pickled cucumbers and cut them into cubes.
STEP 5
Wash and chop the green onions.
STEP 6
Preparing the herring. Cut off the head, tail and fins, remove the skin. We cut the belly and gut it: take out the intestines, milt or caviar, and also remove the black film with a knife. Remove the backbone and remaining bones to create a fillet. You can buy ready-made herring fillets in cans.
STEP 7
Cut the fillet into cubes.
STEP 8
Wash and chop the dill.
STEP 9
Let's start assembling the salad. Pour carrots, potatoes and green peas into a deep bowl, from which you must first drain the juice. Mix.
STEP 10
Add beets, green onions and sauerkraut. Stir.
STEP 11
Add chopped herring fillets and mix again. Add salt and ground black pepper to taste and pour in unrefined vegetable oil, mix again and taste the salad.
STEP 12
Add greens. Mix. Salad ready! When serving, you can garnish it with parsley or lemon slices. My friend told me how to make a delicious herring vinaigrette. It was while visiting her that I tried this dish for the first time, and now I decided to share the recipe with you.
