  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to prepare cucumbers with red currants for the winter? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Rinse fresh cucumbers thoroughly under running water, place them in a deep container, cover with cold water and leave to soak for 4 hours. This must be done so that the cucumbers in the preparation become elastic and crispy. During the specified time, it is better to change the water a couple of times so that it does not start to sour.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

While the cucumbers are soaking, prepare the jars. It is better to take jars with a volume of 1 liter, so that after opening the product can be quickly eaten. Rinse the jars with soda and sterilize in any convenient way: in a water bath, in the oven or in the microwave. Wash and boil the lids and dry.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Drain the cucumbers and rinse them again. Drain the cucumbers in a colander or place them on a clean cotton cloth to dry. Then cut off the ends of the cucumbers on both sides. You will learn all the important subtleties of preparing preparations for the winter by reading the article at the end of the recipe.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

For harvesting, red currants can be used together with tassels, this will make it more interesting and beautiful. Rinse and dry the berries.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Place washed and dried dill sprigs, horseradish leaves, black currants, garlic cloves, black peppercorns and cloves at the bottom of sterile jars.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Place cucumbers on top; it is more convenient to place them vertically and tightly. Place red currant sprigs on top. If there is space left in the jar, then make a second row of cucumbers. Fill the contents of the jars with boiling water, cover the jars themselves with lids and leave for 10 minutes.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Then drain the water into an enamel pan, add sugar and salt. Place the pan with the marinade on the fire and, stirring, bring to a boil so that the sugar and salt are completely dissolved. Pour in the vinegar and turn off the heat.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Immediately fill the jars with marinade up to the hangers of the jars and roll up the lids. Turn the jars upside down, cover with a blanket or blanket and leave until completely cool. Afterwards, store the jars in a cool place. Good luck with your preparations!

I have never prepared cucumbers with red currants for the winter. Although the recipe is quite simple and familiar, only currants are added to the jar. I had frozen berries along with twigs. I tried to choose small cucumbers so that they would fit in a liter jar. For greens, I have horseradish, cherry and fragrant black currant leaves. I didn’t have dill umbrellas, but I did have dried coriander on branches, it’s also very fragrant. I calculated the amount of salt and sugar after draining the liquid from the jar into a measuring cup. I think the cucumbers will turn out not too salty, with a pleasant sourness. The jars look beautiful, we'll try them in winter!

Add enough red currants so that vinegar is not needed; in this case, its acid serves as an additional ingredient; in extreme cases, add a little lemon. And cucumbers are also soaked in currants in this case, you have too few berries - for beauty, or what? For a 2-liter jar it usually took 1-1.5 glasses. At least this is the common method here, try it.
