Cottage cheese casserole with raisins and starch in the oven
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to make cottage cheese casserole with starch in the oven? Prepare the necessary products. Be sure to try the cottage cheese before purchasing so that it is not sour or rancid. All dairy products can be used at any fat content.
STEP 2
Pour the cottage cheese into a deep container and crush thoroughly with a fork or chop it with your hands. If desired, you can rub it through a sieve if the dish is being created for children who do not like cottage cheese in any form.
STEP 3
Add granulated sugar, salt, sour cream of any fat content and mix thoroughly to form a homogeneous mass. You can replace sugar in the recipe with any kind of honey - you will need about 3-4 tablespoons, but such a sweet product is not added to the dough, but served with a chopped and cooled dish. Honey cannot be heat treated, as this ingredient loses its beneficial properties.
STEP 4
Add raisins. If desired, dried fruits can be steamed in boiling water for 20 minutes in advance, then dried with paper towels, however, dry raisins “draw” moisture into themselves during baking, which will make the casserole fluffy and keep its shape. Mix thoroughly. You can add orange or lemon zest, citrus juice, and vanilla flavoring to the mixture.
STEP 5
Beat in the chicken eggs and mix again so that they are evenly dispersed throughout the curd mass. Instead, you can use quail or duck eggs, the main thing is in the appropriate proportion.
STEP 6
Add starch: corn or potato starch, there is practically no difference in these bulk ingredients. Knead the resulting dough thoroughly.
STEP 7
Grease a baking dish with melted butter and pour the curd dough into it, carefully spreading it with a spatula. Place in a preheated oven at 180 C and bake the casserole for about 25-30 minutes. The exact time depends on the features of your oven.
STEP 8
Keep an eye on the surface of the dish while baking. If it turns golden brown, pierce it on the side with a wooden skewer. When the skewer is dry, your dish is completely cooked. Turn off the heat and leave in the oven with the door closed for 10 - 20 minutes so that the casserole does not fall due to the temperature difference when removing.
STEP 9
After this, remove the pan from the oven, remove the casserole from the pan and cut into portions. Serve with aromatic brewed tea, not forgetting a slice of lemon.
