Classic zebra cupcake in the oven

Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1

How to make a classic Zebra cake in the oven? Very simple! First, prepare the necessary ingredients. It is advisable for all products to be at room temperature, so remove them from the refrigerator in advance. Take refined, odorless vegetable oil. You can replace coffee with coffee liqueur. Read about the properties of flour in the article on this topic, link at the end of this recipe.
STEP 2

Before kneading the dough, weigh the bowl. This will be useful to us later. In a bowl, combine 200 ml of milk, vegetable oil, sour cream, sugar and eggs. Beat with a mixer for 2-3 minutes at maximum speed.
STEP 3

Sift 260 g of flour along with baking powder and add to the dough. Beat again until smooth.
STEP 4

Divide the dough into two equal parts. To divide the dough correctly, weigh the weight of the bowl with the dough, subtract from the result the weight of the bowl itself (which was weighed at the very beginning). Divide the resulting mass by 2.
STEP 5

Add the remaining 25 g of flour, 25 ml of milk and vanilla extract to one part and beat until smooth.
STEP 6

Pour cocoa into another part, pour in coffee and also beat with a mixer until smooth. Thus, we have two parts of the dough of the same density and volume. Both parts of the dough should come out with air bubbles.
STEP 7

Line a baking dish (Ø 16 cm) with parchment and grease with butter. Pour 2 tbsp into the center of the mold. l. chocolate mass, then 2 tbsp. l. vanilla mass. Alternating between both types of dough, fill out the entire form. To make the circles even, hold the spoon strictly vertically. Bake the cake at 140-150°C on the “top-bottom” setting for about 1 hour until the skewer is dry. The exact time depends on your oven and the size of the pan. If you have a gas oven, bake for about 40-50 minutes at 180°C.
STEP 8

If the top is starting to brown but the inside of the cake is not yet ready, cover it with foil. Read more about ovens in the article at the end of this recipe. Wrap the finished cake, without removing it from the mold, with cling film and leave at room temperature for 6-8 hours. Then remove the cake from the pan. You can serve the cake immediately while still warm.
STEP 9

If you wish, you can additionally decorate the cupcake with strawberries. This makes it look beautiful and effective.
STEP 10

Wash the strawberries, remove the stems and cut into thin slices.
STEP 11

Decorate the surface of the cupcake with strawberry slices and serve. Please note that you need to decorate the baked goods with berries immediately before serving, as wet strawberries can soak the top of the cupcake. Bon appetit!
