Christmas cake with tangerines in the oven

STEP 1
How to make a tangerine cake in the oven? Measure out the required ingredients. They should be at room temperature. Remove the butter in advance so that it becomes soft. The list of spices can be changed, as well as their quantity. Add to taste.
STEP 2
Combine flour with spices and baking powder. Sift the dry mixture into a convenient wide container. The flour will be enriched with oxygen, and the cake will be more lifting and fluffy.
STEP 3
Combine soft butter with sugar.
STEP 4
Using a mixer, beat the butter and sugar until a fluffy, homogeneous mass is formed.
STEP 5
Add condensed milk. Beat well so that the condensed milk is evenly combined with the butter-sugar mixture.
STEP 6
Beat the eggs into the resulting mixture, one at a time, beating well after each one.
STEP 7
Add lemon and orange zest to the dough and stir. You can use tangerine zest instead of orange.
STEP 8
Add flour sifted with baking powder and spices. Mix thoroughly until any lumps of flour disappear. At this stage, you can mix the dough with a spoon or mixer at low speed.
STEP 9
The dough turns out homogeneous and thick.
STEP 10
Wash the tangerines, peel them, and divide them into slices. If possible, remove the white veins from the slices.
STEP 11
Add tangerine slices to the dough, mix well.
STEP 12
Grease the bottom and sides of the baking dish with butter. Place the dough in the pan and smooth the top with a spoon or spatula.
STEP 13
Bake the cake in an oven preheated to 170C for 50-55 minutes. Baking time will depend on the operating characteristics of the oven. Check the readiness of the cake with a wooden skewer. It should come out dry from the middle of the cake, without any traces of dough. If the top is well browned, but the inside of the cake is not yet baked, cover the pan with a layer of foil. Drain the finished cake a little and remove it from the mold.
STEP 14
You can prepare frosting to decorate the cupcake.

Beat the whites with a fork until smooth.
STEP 16
Add powdered sugar and mix lightly.
STEP 17
Add a few drops of lemon juice at a time, while rubbing the mass and achieving the desired consistency of the glaze. If the glaze is too thick, add more lemon juice. If, on the contrary, it is a little liquid, add powdered sugar. The glaze should be moderately thick and moderately fluid so that it can be conveniently applied to the cupcake.
STEP 18
Cover the completely cooled cake with frosting. Let the glaze dry a little.
STEP 19
If desired, you can additionally decorate the top of the baked goods with various sprinkles to enhance the festive mood. Do this until the icing is completely hardened.
STEP 20
Cut the Christmas cake into pieces and serve. Bon appetit!
