Amber jam from apples in slices
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1

How to make amber jam from apples? Prepare the necessary ingredients. Choose apples to suit your taste, whether sweet or sour. For sour ones, more sugar will be needed, and for sweet ones, less. The main thing is that the fruits are strong and without flaws.
STEP 2

Wash the apples thoroughly and pat dry or let them dry.
STEP 3

Cut the apples in half and then into slices, remove the core. In order for them to retain their shape in jam, it is better not to peel them. If shape is not critical for you, you can peel the apples.
STEP 4

Place the prepared apple slices in a saucepan and sprinkle with sugar (use half the dose or less). Leave them in the refrigerator for 12-14 hours, preferably overnight.
STEP 5

During this time, the apples will release juice. Take them out of the refrigerator and shake them. Take a wide and deep saucepan (or basin), place the apples in it, put it on the fire and bring to a boil. Add the remaining sugar and cook until it dissolves, constantly shaking the jam, sinking the floating slices into the syrup. After cooking for 5 minutes, turn off the stove and cool the jam. Be careful not to damage the slices - the jam should be shaken, not stirred.
STEP 6

Bring the jam to a boil again and simmer over low heat until fully cooked - until the syrup thickens and all the apple slices are caramelized. Add ground cinnamon and cloves to taste (optional).
STEP 7

The jam turns out to be very fragrant, beautiful, the slices are amber-transparent in color.
