Turkey meatballs in the oven
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to bake turkey meatballs in the oven? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. If you have turkey fillet in the refrigerator, you can make the minced meat yourself, it will be even better. The recipe used commercially prepared ground turkey. I took short grain rice.
STEP 2
First of all, let's prepare the rice. Rinse it several times to clean water, then boil until half cooked. To do this, fill the cereal with cold water in a saucepan and place on high heat. After boiling, reduce the heat to moderate and cook the rice for about 5 - 7 minutes, then drain the cereal in a colander to get rid of excess liquid.
STEP 3
Peel the onion. Wash the carrots with a brush under running water, peel and rinse in clean water. Finely chop the onion and grate the carrots on a medium-sized grater.
STEP 4
Place chopped vegetables and minced meat in a deep bowl.
STEP 5
Add rice next.
STEP 6
Salt to taste, sprinkle with your favorite spices (in the recipe I used ground red pepper, a little nutmeg and suneli hops).
STEP 7
Mix everything thoroughly. Try rolling one ball; if the meatballs are difficult to form and fall apart, then add one chicken egg to the minced meat and mix again.
STEP 8
Roll out meatballs with your hands to approximately the same size. The number of balls depends on what size you make the meatballs. I got 12 fist-sized pieces. Place the meatballs in a baking dish.
STEP 9
How to make gravy for meatballs? Peel the garlic, remove the seeds and stem from the bell pepper. Cut the pepper into small strips. Wash the tomatoes, dry them and chop them into medium-sized cubes, and leave the garlic cloves whole (if they are very large, cut them into 2 or 4 parts). Place the peppers evenly between the meatballs in the baking dish. If desired, you can change the cutting method.
STEP 10
Also distribute the garlic and tomatoes evenly among the minced turkey meatballs and rice.
STEP 11
Add a pinch of salt to the tomato sauce, if desired, you can add dry basil, pour in 100 ml of cold water, stir. Pour the sauce over the meatballs, cover the pan with a lid or foil and place in an oven preheated to 180 degrees (top-bottom mode). Bake for about 30 minutes, then remove the foil and leave the meatballs in the oven for another 10-15 minutes to brown. Please note that baking time and temperature may vary depending on your oven.
STEP 12
Sprinkle the finished turkey meatballs in tomato sauce with fresh herbs and ground peppers if desired. Can be served. Bon appetit!
