Tsar's fur coat salad with red fish
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
Prepare the indicated products for the salad. Potatoes, carrots and eggs must first be boiled and cooled. You should take medium-sized potatoes, and choose carrots (size) according to your taste - depending on how you like them to be felt in the salad. Crab sticks and shrimp (boiled), if frozen, should be thawed, leaving them on the table at room temperature. I use salad onions; they can be replaced with green onions or onions.
STEP 2
The salad can be prepared in a common salad bowl, on a beautiful dish with a springform pan, or on a portion plate with a serving ring. Peel the boiled potatoes and grate them on a coarse grater. Place the boiled potatoes as the first layer in the salad and lightly compact them. Coat the layer with a small amount of mayonnaise or make a mayonnaise mesh.
STEP 3
For the salad, choose lightly salted fish; salmon, trout, pink salmon are suitable. Remove the selected fish from the packaging, peel the skin and any remaining bones. Cut the fish into small cubes. Place the chopped fish in a second layer on top of the potatoes. Immediately sprinkle chopped onions on top - green or lettuce. Whatever onion you choose, it will soak into the layered salad and will not taste bitter. Coat this layer with a small amount of mayonnaise.
STEP 4
Peel the boiled and cooled eggs and separate them into whites and yolks. Set the whites aside for now. Grate the yolks on a fine or medium grater and place in the next layer in the salad. Since there are not very many yolks, you can coat them with mayonnaise, or you can leave them uncoated, if desired.
STEP 5
Remove the defrosted crab sticks from the packaging, remove the films and finely chop. Place the next layer of chopped crab sticks and coat with mayonnaise.
STEP 6
Peel the boiled and cooled carrots and grate them on a medium grater. Place the carrots in the next layer after the crab sticks. Spread the carrot layer with a small amount of mayonnaise.
STEP 7
Shrimp are usually sold already boiled. They just need to be defrosted and cleaned. But you can put them in boiling water for a couple of minutes. Remove the shell, tail and entrails from the finished shrimp. Leave a few shrimp to garnish the salad. Cut the peeled shrimp and place the next layer in the salad and coat with mayonnaise.
STEP 8
Grate the reserved egg whites on a fine grater and place as the last layer in the salad. You don’t have to coat the shrimp layer with mayonnaise, but mix the grated whites with mayonnaise and put it in the last layer. Put the finished salad in the refrigerator for several hours, at least two hours. During this time, the layers will become saturated with each other and the salad will only become tastier.
STEP 9
Before serving the salad, you can decorate it to your liking. Place the reserved shrimp on the salad. You can also use red caviar to decorate the salad.
