  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make tomato salad with soy sauce? Prepare the necessary products. Take fleshy, ground tomatoes. I recommend choosing tomatoes by smell - good fruits have a bright tomato aroma. Pay special attention to the choice of soy sauce - do not chase the low price, but choose naturally fermented soy sauce. Use regular table vinegar 6-9%, you can use apple or grape.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Take the tomatoes, wash them well in running water, dry them, remove the stems. Cut into circles about 5 mm thick.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Use a wide, flat plate to serve the salad. Place tomato slices overlapping each other in a circle.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Peel the onion, wash, dry, cut into thin half rings.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Place the onion in a deep plate or bowl, pour boiling water over it and leave for about 5 minutes. After scalding, the onion will lose a little of its pungency and become softer.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Then drain the water and lightly squeeze the onion.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Place the onion in the middle of the plate, between the tomatoes.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Wash the green onions in running water, dry, chop and sprinkle tomatoes and onions on top.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

How to make salad dressing? Mix soy sauce, vinegar and vegetable oil in a convenient container. Since we need oil for refueling, we can take any type of oil, even unrefined. Olive or sunflower aromatic is perfect!

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Add sugar to taste. Sugar will make the dressing taste more balanced.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Peel the garlic, chop it and add it to the dressing. I put the clove through a press, but it’s quite possible to grate the garlic on a fine grater or chop it with a knife.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Chop the walnuts a little (I roll the walnuts with a rolling pin and they chop perfectly), but you can also do this with a knife. Add nuts to the dressing. If desired, you can lightly warm the nuts in a hot frying pan, this will give them a brighter aroma.

  13. STEP 13

    STEP 13

Stir and taste the dressing. If you wish, you can add a little salt to it. I didn't add salt, because... Soy sauce is already salty enough.

  14. STEP 14

    STEP 14

Pour the dressing over the salad and let it sit for 7-10 minutes.

  15. STEP 15

    STEP 15

The salad goes well with meat and fish dishes, as well as poultry dishes. And in the summer it can be perfectly served as an independent dish! Bon appetit!

There are many salads made from fresh tomatoes, but I have never come across one like this. I had stored the tomatoes since the beginning of October while they were still green, but now they have turned red and it’s time to use them for food. I make salads every day, I already want something new) I laid out the tomatoes and onions on a plate as in the recipe. Then I started refueling, but here a surprise awaited. It's not just mixing liquid ingredients as usual. Walnuts and garlic are added to the dressing. I crushed the nuts with the flat side of the knife, and then chopped them, and put the garlic through a press. Tastes impressive! I spooned the dressing onto the tomato slices and onions, then poured over the rest of the sauce. The salad was infused for a couple of hours in the refrigerator before dinner. The taste of the salad is very unusual, spicy, sour-salty, slightly spicy. Since my tomatoes were ripening, they don’t have much of a taste. The salad dressing elevated them. Everything together is very tasty, an amazing bouquet of aromas! My husband especially liked it) I recommend preparing this salad to experience the whole palette of flavors.

There is no sugar listed in the ingredients. How much to lay down?
