Sweet pickled cucumbers

Sweet, savory, aromatic, incomparably delicious! Sweet pickled cucumbers for the winter are noticeably different in taste from regular pickled ones. They are obtained with a pleasant sweetness and aroma and a slight piquancy in taste. The peculiarity of the marinade lies in the addition of more sugar than salt.

  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to prepare sweet pickled cucumbers for the winter? Prepare the necessary ingredients.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Cucumbers for harvesting should be used fresh, small in size. Wash the vegetables thoroughly in a basin, changing the water several times, or under running water. You can gently rub the cucumbers with a brush.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Pour clean cold water over the cucumbers and leave to soak for four hours.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

To better soak the cucumbers in the marinade, their ends need to be cut off on both sides. After soaking in water, drain the water, rinse the cucumbers again with clean water and let them dry.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Wash the jars with soda and sterilize in a water bath, place the neck of the jar on a kettle with boiling water and keep for about 15 minutes from the moment the water boils (for liter jars). You can sterilize jars in another convenient way: in the oven or in the microwave.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Peel the garlic and cut into large pieces. Wash the horseradish root, peel and cut into small pieces. Rinse the greens thoroughly and let them dry completely.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

At the bottom of the jars, place several pieces of horseradish root, garlic cloves, parsley and dill, peppercorns, allspice, bay leaf and cloves.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Place the cucumbers tightly in jars. Pour water into a saucepan, add sugar, salt and vinegar. Place the pan on the fire, bring the marinade to a boil and stir until the sugar and salt are completely dissolved. Pour the prepared marinade over the cucumbers in the jars.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Cover the jars with lids and sterilize them in a saucepan with water, placing a cloth on the bottom. 1 liter jars need to be sterilized for about 15 minutes. You can use the color of the cucumbers in the jar as a guide; they should turn olive green. Roll up the jars with lids and let them cool completely at room temperature, upside down, under a warm blanket.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

The workpiece is ready. Bon appetit!

This is the second season I’ve been pickling cucumbers using this recipe! I did this last year as an experiment. I wanted pickled cucumbers, but unusual ones. All family members liked the sweetish-spicy taste of this preparation; they ate it quickly and demanded to make more next time! This season the number of jars of sweet cucumbers has increased, I hope there is enough for everyone!))
