Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan. Add the onion and fry until transparent.

I used to stew sauerkraut in the oven. At the same time, I never fried onions or added tomato paste to cabbage. But, thanks to this recipe, I got the best result. I cooked stewed sauerkraut in a frying pan for a total of 50 minutes. First of all, I fried the onion, then added washed cabbage to it, fried it for about 5 minutes. Then simmered it in broth with bay leaves and peppercorns for more 25 minutes. After that, salting the cabbage, adding sugar and tomato paste, I cooked for about 20 minutes more. The cabbage turned out to be quite soft, absorbing the taste of the tomato and the aromas of bay leaf and pepper. It became so delicious! Juicy, fragrant, spicy! An excellent side dish! Thank you very much for the recipe!

I love sauerkraut, so I specially prepare it for preparing various dishes. Today I made stewed sauerkraut in a frying pan. I usually add apple juice or just water. And here we use broth and tomato paste. The combination tasted interesting! My cabbage is not very sour, I didn’t wash it, I just squeezed it well. Fry the onion until lightly browned, this makes any dish tastier and more aromatic. I also fried the cabbage so that golden edges appeared in places. And then stewed it together with broth and tomato paste. I also added a bay leaf and a pinch of sugar. Delicious! Smells delicious! The cabbage has become soft, but still has a little crunch. You can't tear yourself away from this dish!

The recipe is just right! If you add sausages and beer, you get a real German dinner! 😉
