  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to bake salty cookies? Prepare all the indicated products. First remove the butter from the refrigerator so that it is softened; this can be done half an hour to an hour before baking. Take medium-sized eggs, we will only need yolks: one for the dough, the other for greasing the cookies before baking. Cumin is used to sprinkle cookies; if it is not to your taste, you can discard it or replace it with coarse salt.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Turn on the oven to preheat at 180 degrees. In a deep bowl, mix one yolk, flour sifted through a sieve, softened butter and salt. Knead elastic dough. You may need less or more flour than indicated. Focus on the consistency of the dough. Wash the egg first in running water and soda, as it may contain harmful bacteria. The finished dough easily gathers into a ball and does not stick to your hands.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

The dough for homemade salty cookies is not sticky, but if you roll it out on the table, you will have to add more flour. To avoid this, roll out the cookie dough through baking paper. The thinner the dough is rolled out, the crispier the finished cookies will be. Roll out the dough thinly and cut as desired. You can use stripes, squares, or cut out various shapes.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Transfer the prepared raw cookies to a baking sheet or oven tray, previously lined with baking paper. Lightly shake the raw yolk and brush the surface of the cookies with a pastry brush. Sprinkle the cookies with cumin, coarse sea salt, or leave them without any sprinkles at all. Place the baking sheet with cookies in an oven preheated to 180°C and bake for about 12-17 minutes. Baking time will depend on the power of the oven and the thickness of the cookies.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Remove the finished homemade salty cookies from the oven and let them cool. These pastries are perfect as a snack with beer or wine. Bon appetit!

With beer, that's what you need! For savory baked goods, I liked the corn tortillas. They go well with soup and tea.

The salty cookies turned out very tasty and crumbly!! Wonderful shortbread dough! It rolled out well through the parchment directly on the work surface and could easily be transferred to a baking sheet. I cut the dough with a curly knife and sprinkled it with sesame seeds instead of cumin. By the way, the amount of salt in the dough can be adjusted, making the cookies more or less salty to your taste. I had enough of the indicated ingredients, including yolk for greasing, for cookies that fit exactly on one standard-sized baking sheet. Great recipe, highly recommend!
