  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to bake a pie with jam in a hurry? Prepare all the necessary ingredients for the dough. The butter should be soft, so take it out of the refrigerator in advance and leave it at room temperature (I take it out in the evening). Use premium flour.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Beat soft butter with sugar in a mixer until creamy in a deep bowl. Depending on the sweetness of the filling, you can use less sugar. In principle, any jam is already sweet by definition. Therefore, you can add less sugar to the dough. I had sour cranberry jam, so this amount of sugar was enough. The pie didn't turn out too sweet.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Add the eggs one at a time, each time beating the mixture with a mixer until smooth and fluffy. For a better combination of ingredients, the eggs should also be at room temperature. Wash the eggs with soda first, as there may be harmful bacteria on their surface.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Sift the flour with baking powder and salt through a sieve or using a special mug. Add flour to the bowl. It is convenient to sift directly into the dough.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Knead into a soft, elastic and pliable dough. It should not stick to your hands. Since flour from different manufacturers has different properties, you may need less or more flour.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Divide the dough into 2 unequal parts. Most of it will be used to form the base and sides of the pie. And the smaller one is for decorating the top.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Roll the smaller part into a ball, wrap it in cling film and put it in the freezer for half an hour or an hour. It should cool well so that it is convenient to grate it.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Spread the remaining majority of the dough over the bottom and sides of the baking dish, forming small sides. This amount of dough may be enough for a medium-sized baking sheet. Place the pan with the dough in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Prepare your favorite jam for the pie. I chose cranberry, but not pureed cranberries with sugar, but whole berries.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Place jam on the dough and smooth it out.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

On top of the jam, grate the second part of the dough from the freezer on a coarse grater. If there is a little dough left, you can use it to make beautiful patterns on the surface of the pie. Bake the pie in an oven preheated to 180°C for about 40 minutes. The time is approximate; the exact time depends on the operating characteristics of your oven. The top of the pie should be browned.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Remove the finished pie from the mold, cool and cut into pieces. Bon appetit!

For a long time I looked at the recipe for a quick jam pie, it looks so beautiful in the photo. And finally I decided to cook it. I kneaded the dough according to the recipe, divided it into two unequal parts and put the smaller one in the freezer. I took a round mold, lined it with baking paper and put most of the dough rolled out there and put it in the refrigerator. After some time, I took out a mold with dough, put cherry plum jam in it, and grated the dough from the freezer on top, but not all of it, I left a little for decoration. I was inspired by the author’s photo and decided to decorate the pie too. The pie turned out delicious, and everyone really liked the design. This is a great option for tea! Thanks for the wonderful recipe, Maria!

This is the taste of childhood! Memories of labor lessons came flooding back, where girls were taught to cook. The crumbly sweet dough goes perfectly with jam. It is better to use jam with sourness. My version is orange)

A wonderful pie and it cooks very quickly. I bake it in 20 minutes at 180 degrees. My mom did this for a long time. Nostalgia from childhood...

I also often make this pie; it’s my go-to pie and a great way to get rid of excess jam. ☺
