  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make potato pies in the oven? First, prepare the necessary ingredients. Turn on the oven to 180 degrees in advance.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Peel, wash and cut the potatoes as desired. Boil until done. You can check readiness with a knife: if the knife easily enters the potatoes, it means they are ready.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

While the potatoes are cooking, you can start preparing the filling. Rinse the champignons from dirt and cut into thin slices. Cut the onion into small cubes.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Fry the mushrooms over medium heat for 7-10 minutes until the moisture has completely evaporated. Add chopped onions to the mushrooms and fry until golden brown. Salt and pepper to taste. The filling is ready.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Drain the broth from the potatoes, add butter to it and mash it with a masher.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Add an egg to the mashed potatoes, sift the flour and knead the dough. Let it cool slightly so you don't burn your hands when shaping the pies.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Lubricate your hands with vegetable oil. Take the puree with a tablespoon and roll into a ball.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Make a flat cake out of the ball and put some filling in the middle.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Pinch the edges of the future pie. Don't worry if the pie breaks a little somewhere. This place can be “sealed” with a piece of dough.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Give the pie the desired shape.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Make pies from the rest of the dough in the same way. Place them on a greased baking sheet (or silicone mat). Place the pies in the oven for 20-30 minutes until golden brown. If the pies are not very brown on top, move them 5-10 minutes before the end of baking to the upper level of the oven.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Serve the potato pies warm with fresh vegetables or broth. Bon appetit!

In order to cook potato pies in the oven, I separately fried the champignons with onions and made potato dough according to the recipe. Forming the pies was quite problematic, the potatoes stuck strongly to my hands, so I used an ordinary transparent bag - I put it on my hands and made pies in it, the potato dough did not stick to the bag at all and came away from it well. When baking, the pies seemed very pale to me, at the same time they were already starting to brown on the bottom, so right during baking I brushed them with yolk (this was a bad idea, it’s better to put a flat thin piece of cheese on top so that it melts and browns beautifully, or set upper baking mode, if the oven allows). The hot pies didn't hold their shape very well, but when they cooled down, you could even eat them with your hands. Ready-made potato pies are very similar to potato zrazy, only cooked in the oven. Well, of course, they taste good, because the combination of potatoes and mushrooms in any dish is successful. Thanks for the recipe!

This was my first time cooking with potato dough. It is done simply and quickly. The dough turns out to be quite tender and quite sticky, and I was afraid that it would be difficult to form pies out of it. But my fears were not justified. The main thing is to thoroughly grease your hands with oil so that the dough does not stick to your hands. The potato pies with filling turned out wonderful. The combination of mushrooms and potatoes is always delicious. These pies are no exception. The structure of the pies is very delicate and soft. They are good both as an addition to soup and as a treat for tea. Thank you very much for the recipe!
