STEP 1
How to make potato pancakes in Ukrainian? Prepare everything you need for this. Peel the potatoes and onions and rinse them to remove dirt. Do not leave the peeled potatoes in this form for a long time, otherwise they will turn black. But there is no need to fill it with water - this will negatively affect the quality of potato pancakes, since starch, which is so needed in potato pancakes, will go into the water.
STEP 2
To prepare, take a comfortable, deep bowl so that nothing falls out when mixing. Grate the onion into a bowl using a fine grater. It will look like onion puree.
STEP 3
Immediately grate the potatoes on a fine grater. Stir it with the onion puree so that it does not start to darken.
STEP 4
Add egg, salt and a little spice to the bowl. As a spice, ground black pepper and a little paprika will be enough.
STEP 5
Next add chopped fresh herbs.
STEP 6
Mix all ingredients until smooth. If juice appears from the potatoes, it will need to be drained.
STEP 7
For frying, heat the pan and pour in vegetable oil to 2-3 mm. Spoon some potato mixture and fry over low heat on both sides.
STEP 8
The finished potato pancakes will turn an appetizing golden color. Remove them to a paper towel to remove excess oil.
STEP 9
Garlic sauce would be a great addition to potato pancakes. To prepare it, mix sour cream with chopped herbs and add garlic, passed through a press.
STEP 10
Place the finished potato pancakes on a plate and top with sour cream sauce. Serve them hot. Bon appetit!
